New Adventures

The start of something new. It brings up so many different feelings. Intrigued for the endless possibilities, worry for how things will turn out, apprehension because of change in general, courage for taking steps in a new direction, and excitement for a freshness to life.

I have felt all these over the past 6 months in preparation for new adventures in my life. Mostly excitement. I try to focus on the many possibilities of enjoyment of new experiences.

A few months ago my family moved from the beautiful mountain filled Utah, all the way across the country where we know not a soul, making a new life outside of Chicago. Local adventures of finding a home, getting used to the area, meeting new people, scouting out the nearest library, searching for the nearest Costco and Asian market, and going on day trips have filled our life for the past few months. Exploring our new area has been exciting and I look forward to having you join with me on some of my upcoming outings! 

I recently had an adventure of a lifetime. For a whole year, I made plans for a solo trip abroad. I researched, made lists, created an itinerary, then created alternate itineraries just in case, shopped, and then finally traveled halfway around the world on my own for the first time. In a country that I wasn't fluent in the language, but had so much love and respect for the culture, nature, history, and people. There will be many upcoming posts about Korea, and I hope you can fall in love with it as much as I have.

Another of these adventures is this blog! I took a break from blogging in 2021. I needed to focus on my family and myself at the time. About a year ago, I started to feel the desire to blog again. Over the past months I decided that I needed a fresh start.

I wanted to have a place where I can write about and share whatever comes to mind. I will still share recipes, tutorials, and book reviews....but I want to also share thoughts about different topics, more of my local finds, write about my travels, share things that bring excitement and happiness to my life. And hopefully along the way I will write about something that brightens the day of someone else, or makes them feel seen.
