This idea came about when my friend Laura, from the blog Watts + Walsh, and I hosted a Witch's Night Out Party in October. She made Witch Fingers as one of the spooky treats and everybody loved them. After the party, we were talking about DIY holiday gifts we could make for our friends in the neighborhood. The idea for Candy Cane Dipped Pretzels was born!
This project is part of the monthly challenge for the Inspire My Creativity group. Once a month there is a theme and all of the co-hosts create a new project, then we open the link party to anyone who wants to add a project having to do with the theme.

Dipped Pretzel Candy Canes
These tasty dipped pretzels have just a few ingredients and are simple to make. If you have never worked with candy melts before, don't be intimidated! They are very easy to use and within 20 minutes you will have a sweet treat for your holiday party or as a neighbor gift.
Ingredients for Dipped Pretzel Candy Cane Treats
Makes 32 pretzel sticks - 8 gift bags with 4 each
- 1 8oz package - Bright White Candy Melts by Wilton (bought at Walmart)
- 1 2oz package - Red Drizzle Pouch Candy Melts
- 1 bag - Snyder of Hanover Dipping Sticks
- clear treat bags
- holiday ribbon
- parchment paper
Note: You can buy the larger pretzel rods, but I feel that the dipping sticks are the right size for the perfect ratio of candy to pretzel.
Directions
1. Place Bright White candy melts into a microwave safe bowl. Follow the directions on bag for melting the candy.
2. Pour melted candy into a mug. Dip pretzel sticks into the mug 3/4 of the way down the pretzel. Place dipped pretzels onto the parchment paper to harden - about 5 minutes.
3. Microwave the red candy melt drizzle pouch. Follow directions on pouch. Make sure that the candy inside the pouch is very soft and liquid feeling. That will make drizzling over the white dipped pretzels much easier.
4. Cut the marked corner off the drizzle pouch, and drizzle the red melted candy over the pretzel sticks. Back and forth making a red and white stripe pattern. My pouch melts needed about 10 seconds more, so it was a little thicker than I had planned. It still tastes great though!
5. Let the pretzel treats dry on the parchment paper, then place in treat bags and tie with cute holiday ribbon.
There you have it! Cute treats to take to your neighbors, give to the kids teachers, your co-workers, or plate them for your holiday party.
