Since the 4th of July is coming up, I wanted to share with you this fun, tasty, simple treat that we make at our house. My girls love kabobs, but the long ones are sometimes hard for them to eat off of....and I don't like the super pointy end that always seems to end up near their eyes. I thought of this as a compromise, and let me tell you, it is a popular treat around my house! The kids ate this whole bowl in about 2 minutes. It's a good thing they were playing upstairs while I was putting these together and taking pictures!
For our red, white, and blue we used raspberries, mini marshmallows, and blueberries. This is the perfect time for raspberries and blueberries. The ones that we bought had just the right amount of sweetness.
Use toothpicks to layer your fruit on. When I made these, I made sure that the closed part of the raspberry was next to the mini marshmallow. If you put them on with the open side next to the marshmallow, the raspberry can slide down and cover up the marshmallow.
These are the perfect snack to eat before your tasty dinner on the 4th of July...or anytime. I have a feeling that my girls will be asking for these quite often while fruit is in season.
What is on your menu for the holiday? We are definitely having Perfect Grilled Corn on the Cob with our dinner!
