Back to School Interview Page

Today I am sharing a free printable of project perfect for a parent wanting to keep track of their kids favorite things throughout the school year.  This would be great for teachers too to give their students on the first day of school.

My kids go back to school in 3 weeks!  I can't believe that summer went by so quickly.  Now is the time when I make lists of school supplies that I need to shop for, buy clothes for the school year, and try to get us back on some sort of schedule so when school starts we aren't all exhausted from staying up too late.

I like to save school memories for my kids, so at the beginning of the school year it is fun to have them fill out this Back to School Interview page.  You can get your own copy at the bottom of this post where I have a link to the printable.

My girls filled these out yesterday before dinner.  It was fun to see the different things they listed as their favorites.  They will like being able to see what their favorite book and subject in school was.  I wasn't surprised to see Harry Potter show up on both their lists.

I save some of their school papers throughout the year in a notebook for them, so I just slip this page into the front of the binder.

At the end of the year I have them fill out an end of school interview so they can see how much things change.  Check back in the spring for that printable!

Do you want to start this tradition for your family?   You can print out your own Back to School Interview page when you click here.

  1. This is such an awesome idea. While my daughter just graduated college, I still have a book that is very similar to these that she filled out every year. The only difference was that there was a spot for a school picture. I take it out whenever we she has old friends and we look at it. Ah the memories! :-)

    1. How nice to know that she still looks at it. I wish I had something like this for when I was growing up. My kids ask me what my favorite color or movie was and I can't remember. Hopefully this will help them to remember. =)

  2. This is such a nice idea! It is great to look back and see how much their opinions have changed. My daughter will start first grade in September and my twins are 2 years old, so I think this will be fun for my daughter to fill out :)

  3. I love this idea! We are doing preschool AGAIN, since J missed the cut off for kindergarten, but I think this would still be a fun start! Thank you for the great printable and for linking up at Merry Monday!

    1. Thanks for you nice comments Megan. It's hard when their birthday is right by the cut off! Hope J has a great year in preschool again. My girls loved their preschool teachers and still talk about them.
